Platform organization

This model organism platform offer researchers the possibility to study gene function in lower eukaryotes and plants [bild på struktur]

The WCN model organism platform was formed around the organisms that are most commonly used as genetic models. The idea is to facilitate knowledge transfer, access to organism collections and provide service for model organisms. The vision is that more research projects at WCN Universities are taken to a point where the function of a gene, or an identified disease gene variant, is addressed. The model organism platform has now been divided into two platforms: one for lower eukaryotes and plants and one for mouse. Both platforms are interested in developing together with other national, Nordic and European networks with related goals.
